A few recommended horror flix for you ghoulz out there who are into that kinda thingy:
"28 Days Later": Amazing, creepy, and original. Make sure you watch for the not so happy alternate ending after the credits.
"House Of 1000 Corpses": Imagine Texas Chainsaw combined with Natural Born Killers. Baby (Sherri Moon) is amazingly HOT!
These are just my opinions. So, feel free to pile on! LOL

I thought 28 days was allright,I still haven't seen the alternate ending. As far as House of 1K goes I loved what the Director was able to do with the what the Writer gave him...but the Writer sucked! (Yes I know)

I liked 28 DAYS, but from what I know of the ending it is nothing special, as all it does is re-do the ending you have seen, but without the one character.
Have not seen HOUSE yet, and not sure when I will. Something about it just kind of keeps me at bay. I like the idea of going for the ol' 80's Splatter thing, but I haven't heard enything about going for scares, just brutality. I want to be scared from my Horror.
Plan to get myself a whole slew of newly released DVD's this weekend! Hope to be grabbing COUNTESS DRACULA/VAMPIRE LOVERS, THE HAUNTING (the original, not the recent piece of shit), THE THING FROM ANOTHER PLANET, and would love to grab THE RAVEN and THE GHOUL also, but thinking I won't be able to.

I thought "28 Days..." was amazing. But, I agree with the assessment of "House...". Was essentially a feast for the eyes. Rob Zombie directed it like a music video with lotsa quick cuts/edits. You are also correct about the "brutality" and not much in the way of story or real scares. That's why I likened it to "Texas Chainsaw" Brutal! (NOTE: "TCM" is still scary as hell and a classic)and "Natural Born Killers" (Surreal and visually amazing)
The other flix you mentioned are true classics. Can't go wrong with the oldies.
Cheerz! A***
BTW: The recent release "Wrong Turn"...Now THAT is a "brutal" movie. H.G. Lewis (Blood Feast, Etc.) would be proud.
